Tick-tock

Written By Alethea Jimison

“If you don’t know why you’re here, Google it. Eventually, you’ll find the answer.”

Alethea the Wordsmith

Tick-tock, tick-tock

I lie in bed listeningto the sound of my clock.Breathe in…deep. Remember, you need to sleep. But I can’t breathe or sleep. Thoughts in my head play on repeat.Reminding me that time is only skin deep.If I don’t finish my lesson,I will never sleep.
Fantasy art with girl staring into the stars
Tick Tock, Karma whispers like a song in my ear.
The warmth of her breath tickles against my hair.
“Don’t get distracted. Remember why you are here.”

Tick-tock

Tick Tock,The screeching movement of planets’a noise constantly ringing in my ears. The stars are burning into supernovas. They burn so brightly they’re turning into ash, falling from the sky like tears. Mars is a graveyard of the last war we had.Jupiter is dying.Venus is drowning.Pluto is dust.Earth is crying. Tick tock…Earth is crying. And we listened to her song.Tick Tock…Tick tock…Don’t get distracted. Remember why we’re here.We are still on the clock.
